Panaseer Builds Numbers in Security Engineering

‘Doing Big Data’ in cyber security may sound glamorous and there’s no doubt our Data Science team enjoys hypothesizing and experimenting. However, it can be overlooked that there is a serious amount of preparatory work needed before this kind of science can be done. Data has to be sourced, accessed, logged, moved, documented and prepared, the cluster has to be sized, designed, allocated and configured, and given the variety of systems Panaseer consumes data from, this can cause a real headache and weeks of waiting.

This is why we are delighted to have lured veteran of virtual and physical IT Infrastructure, Simon Rowan, into the fold,

“I’m very excited to be making the change from large corporate environments to a small, yet heavy-hitting startup company which will require me to utilise the full capacity of my brain and be part of building something new and unique. I can now scale down my collection of staid suits and wear something brighter to work.”

Simon brings a wealth of hands-on experience with numerous IT infrastructures, and knowledge of how to get things moving in our big, complex customer organizations. He’s worked in the biggest Financial Services firms and Defence Contractors, and we’re lucky to have him on the team.

“It’s very rewarding to be part of a team using cutting-edge technology and data science to produce a product which is complex under the hood, but provides a very simple analysis of something that corporates have been struggling with for years, answering the questions that I have experienced first hand in various organizations.”

When he’s not spending time with his family and two small children, Simon enjoys snowboarding in the winter, taking his car on trackdays in the summer and has a weakness for steak, cheese and red wine all year round. He’s a great fit with the Panaseer culture, and we look forward to working with him in the coming months.
